BA This module allows to use a second working electrode with an applied fixed potential, e.g., for Rotating Ring-Disk Electrodes (RRDE). Maximal current for this working electrode is 50 mA. The module has current ranges from 10 nA to 10 mA, and the potential range of ±10 V. Module type: internal. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100. FI20 A Filter and Integrator module. The analog integrator allows to measure charge instead of current and can be used both in cyclic voltammetry as well as in potential step experiments. The third-order Sallen-Key filter, with selectable RC times between 0 and 500 ms, can be used to filter out the noise. Module type: internal. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100. ADC10M A fast sampling module which increases the sampling rate from 50 kHz in the standard instrument to 10 MHz. This gives the possibility to get a data point every 100 ns. Together with the SCAN250 module, the ADC10M allows to do cyclic voltammety with scan rates up to 250 kV/s. Module type: internal. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100. SCAN250 An analog sweep generator. With this module the user can apply a true linear sweep voltammetry, instead of the staircase sweep that is available in the basic instrument. This module can be used in cases where for example fast adsorption processes are studied. Together with ADC650 module, the sweep rate for cyclic voltammetry can be increased to 250 kV/s. A current booster which increases the maximum current of the instrument to 10 A.The compliance voltage of the booster is 20 V. In case the booster is used with PGSTAT302 or PGSTAT100, the overall compliance voltage of this combination is limited to 20 V. Module type: external. Only available for PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100. FRA2 A module for impedance spectroscopy. With this module mounted in the main unit, both potentiostatic and galvanostatic (for example, during charging and discharging of the batteries) impedance measurements become available. Frequency limits are from 10 µHz to 1 MHz. This module together with the FRA software also allows the user to modulate the signal from an outside source to do for example electro-hydrodynamic or photo-modulated impedance spectroscopy. An instrument with PGSTAT302 and FRA2 module, together with FRA software, gives the user a powerful instrument for impedance spectroscopy, capable of measuring a wide range of impedances from 1 mOhm to 100 GOhm. ECD A low current amplifier, with current ranges from 100 pA to 100 ¾A, decreasing the current resolution of the Autolab from 30 fA to 0.3 fA at the lowest current range of 100 pA. This multiplexing module allows the user to measure a number of cells or working electrodes in sequence. There are two different possibilities:
The cell number to perform a measurement can be selected manually, or an automated measurement can be performed on a range of cells. The measurements take place one at a time, so one measurement must be finished before the software switches to the next channel. This module is especially useful when routine measurements have to be performed on a large number of samples. Module type: internal/external. Only available for PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302. pX1000 A module that can be used for pH measurements and bi-potentiometric (current-less) measurements. A pH electrode or ion-selective electrode can be connected to this module, allowing the customer to see the response of these electrodes as an external signal in the software during an electrochemical experiment. This also allows the customer to do coulometric titration experiments in which the second signal can be used as an indicator signal. Module type: internal. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302. ECN With this module, Timed Noise Monitoring experiments can be done. In this way the long time behaviour of samples can be followed. The current noise will be measured between two identical electrodes, while the potential noise is measured with respect to a reference electrode. The latter is connected to the ECN module, thus providing higher resolution than with the standard instrument. The software allows to see both the mean values as well as the standard deviation of potential and current in time. Module type: internal. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302. IME
This module comes in two different types: IME303 and IME663 and is used to connect mercury electrodes to the Autolab instruments and control them from the software. The IME303 is used for control of the PAR303 electrodes, and the IME663 for the Metrohm VA Stand 663. Module type: external. Available for: PGSTAT128N, PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100. EQCM The EQCM module provides the means to perform Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance experiments. The EQCM module measures a mass change per unit area by recording the change in resonant frequency of a quartz crystal oscillator. Measurements in the sub µg/cm2 are possible. The EQCM can be fitted with 6 MHz, AT-cut crystals. The module comes with a dedicated electrochemical cell and is supported in NOVA only. Module type: external.
